Review
When intern journalist Radu first heard about the scandal about underage prostitution, he thought he got a break. He quickly contacts a journalist in Paris and suggests interviewing a girl form Bulgaria. Since he can speak both French and Bulgarian, he wants to attend the interview as an interpreter and for the job security. However, translating is really complicated and tricky. He is in conflict between the victim’s uneasiness and the journalist’s hunger for a scoop. He agonizes over how to deliver the word of truth among the two positions. The Fixer is a story about Radu’s growth. Started as a personal ambition, but when met with complex reality, he can see the nature of journalism?responsibility and ethics. As a result, he finally realizes that journalism is not just about a topic but paying attention to the voice of truth. [Lee Sang-yong]
